Censorship on Daily Kos

Thu Apr 03, 2008 at 10:21:13 AM PDT

Very quick and to the point.  I posted in a 9/11 diary and have been TR'd over and over.  So, I decided to write a somewhat detailed comment about why I think that is wrong.  The comment had nothing to do with 9/11, but everything to do with asking questions and why in a 9/11 diary I can't post a 9/11 comment?  People all over were getting troll rated, but the diary was still there.

I was pointed to the FAQ which says no 9/11 diaries..  This, nor was my last comment, 9/11 related.  It was a question of why are moderators TR'ing people, then posting "You have no evidence." Then when the person responds, they get TR'd again.  Then when the person posts something that is not 9/11 related but an open question about Daily Kos, they get TR'd again.

Below is my comment that was TR'd, I want to know why it was.  I'm starting to suspect I'll be leaving dKos (which I don't want to do, because I am a progressive) because the moderators here seem to hold grudges and take offense far too easily.

Columnist: Hillary Clinton should no longer trust Black people.

Mon Mar 17, 2008 at 10:00:54 PM PDT

While skimming over the Google News Elections headlines, I saw one that quickly caught my attention.  The headline is "Phony Black friends ditch Clinton."

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/...

Now.. I immediately thought the story would be about some dinner party spat, or some close personal friend leaving her campaign because of political reasons... But, no.. Unfortunately, to my surprise, the article is actually about how Black (the term African-American is never used in the story) people are untrustworthy.  It goes on to suggest that Clinton has done more for Black people than Obama ever has.  The story details how Blacks are "worshipful of Obama," and that "Win or lose, Hillary Clinton has earned the right to never trust the word of another black person."

I don't think I've been this insulted in a long long time.  How about you?

Ohio Exit Polls, Why Isn't Barack Obama winning here?

Tue Mar 04, 2008 at 05:46:22 PM PDT

Quick and to the point, I'd love for people's comments on this - what I think - is a little odd about Ohio.  I live in Cleveland, went to the polls with my family.  We saw no one voting for Clinton.  We saw no signs for Clinton.  Our neighborhood is 60/40 White working class.  But let's get to the point.  MSNBC released some interesting exit polls, which would lead me to think Obama would win..

I do not want Universal Health Insurance! No Mandates!

Sat Mar 01, 2008 at 12:42:19 PM PDT

Quick and to the point, I want to get people's perspective on this -- but first a little of my own.  I have 3 kids, my oldest just turned 6, another thats 2, and another is 5 mo. old.  I am self-employed as a freelance programmer and software consultant.  I make a decent wage, but definitely could use more.  I own a rental property but I live in an apartment building, and here in Ohio we pay 7.x % sales tax.  With all that said, I want health coverage for all of us.  I want to be able to go to the doctor and be seen, without worrying about getting a job at the local bookstore just to get into a good HMO plan.

But... I don't want health insurance for myself, nor do I want to be forced into buying it.  I want to be able to buy a government plan for my kids and my girl but not myself, what's wrong with that?

Howard Dean for Vice President! maybe?

Fri Feb 29, 2008 at 05:58:58 PM PDT

I was doing some thinking about this earlier while watching Dean address an event concerning African-American history.  Listening to Dean talk reminded me of his 2004 primary season campaign.  This guy is really good!  So, that got me all nostalgic and thinking "hmm.. maybe instead of trying the old 'get a Southerner to win a Southern state,' maybe we should try to get someone who can continue the Obama change movement beyond 8 years.

I originally said we should have John Edwards for VEEP, but he really brings  nothing to the table that Obama doesn't, imho.  Then I said maybe we should have Wes Clark, because he brings the so-called 'experience' that a President would need, plus he's a Clinton supporter (which could bridge the gap without having Clinton herself on the ticket!)

But now I've come to the conclusion that we definitely need a progressive democrat, someone who embodies change as VP -- for the long-term.  Maybe that's Edwards because of his populism, it's certainly not Clinton - she's an undercover centrist very much like her centrist husband.  So who then?

I think it's Dean.

Why Hillary Clinton NEEDS to be President

Wed Feb 20, 2008 at 09:25:51 AM PDT

This is my first dairy on dKos, so bear with me I'll do my very best.  To get right to it, I've asked this question of the few Clinton supporters I know.  I ask them outright: "Why do you think Hillary Clinton is running for President?"  Typically I get the regurgitated lines right out of the Clinton's talking points.  But to be fair, the people who I'm talking to genuinely believe Hillary Clinton is better prepared to be President of the United States.  So, I've tried to understand their points of view.

But recently, and with the help of the Clinton campaign today, my suspicions of the Clinton campaign have really just been solidified.
